The King High School IB Connection Needs YOU!!

The King High School IB Connection is a parent volunteer organization, and we are excited to welcome our new and returning students and families. If you are new to King IB, please know that the IB Connection is here to support students, families, and teachers, in the IB Programme. Please join us as a partner in your student’s education at King. The Membership Drive is our annual fundraiser, to benefit the classroom instructional needs, which covers additional classroom and technology items needed by our IB teachers, to enhance our students’ learning environment, and helps to offset the expenses to sponsor grade-level activities throughout the year. The funds are also used to maintain our site to help keep our IB Families informed and updated. We have several different levels of membership from which to choose.

With the Covid-19 Pandemic affecting all of our daily lives, technology enhancements for the classroom are needed more than ever, and not all are provided by the district. Teachers are having to use additional resources to accommodate both in-person students, and those who choose e-learning. We want to support our King IB Programme as much as possible, so our students can get the most out of their IB experience. We are hopeful we will be able to have our traditional grade-level celebrations this year. Your membership helps sponsor activities like Freshman Celebration, Sophomore Sweet Endings, Junior IB Pinning, and the Senior Banquet. Stay tuned for more information about these events, and make sure you are signed up to receive grade-level notifications.

To accomplish our goals, we need YOU as a member! If you have already joined, THANK YOU! If you haven’t, please click here to join. Your membership in the King IB Connection includes membership in the King PTSA. Enjoy the benefits of membership, to include invitations to IB Parent/Staff meetings, IB car magnets, and regular newsletters, so you can be informed of what is happening at your student’s school.

We thank you for your membership, and your interest in your student’s educational experience.

Hillsborough County’s International Baccalaureate Schools Receive Top Graduation Honors

Hillsborough County Public Schools received news that the four IB high schools have received huge honors when it comes to IB Diploma Rates!

Congratulations to King High School which had a 95% IB Diploma Rate with six of the last seven years above 95%.

Congratulations also to Hillsborough High School which had a 96% IB Diploma Rate – that is a 14% jump over last year and one of the highest diploma rates in the school’s history.

Congratulations to Robinson High School which had a 96% IB Diploma Rate. That makes seven consecutive years of the rate being 90% or higher… and five of the last six years have been above 95%.

Congratulations to Strawberry Crest High School which had a 99% IB Diploma Rate. Strawberry Crest has been at 98% or higher since 2016.

This is one of the most successful years Hillsborough County Public Schools has ever had.

These diploma rates are representative of the hard work of the students, the teachers and the administrators at each school more than ever before, especially since there were no IB exams for students to take.

In a typical year, these results are beyond exceptional. But considering the challenges of this past school year, these results shine even brighter. Our IB coordinators, principal and educators at each site did some remarkable work this past school year.

Congratulations to everyone involved.
