Message from Assistant Principal – April 29, 2020

Greetings King IB!

I hope and trust all are well and safe.  We’ve had one of our busier weeks in a while here at King High School.  On Tuesday, most of our seniors drove through the front of school to pick up their cap and gown, yearbook, IB stole, and various other things. It was so good to see many of you!

Please be on the lookout for communication when students can come by to pick of certain items. We know that many of you have contents in your lockers.  Mrs. Castelli is putting together a schedule for when those items can be picked up.  Many of you all have purchased yearbooks that you are excited to get. We also know that some are expecting reimbursements for various canceled events.  Please be patient as we work on schedules to get these items to you.  Our goal is to it quickly, but safely.

A special note to my Seniors:

As you have likely already heard, we have canceled this years IB Banquet. While we are sad to not be able to celebrate with you, we know that the safety of all is what’s most important.  IB Connection is working to get the monies paid reimbursed.  Additionally, with the new timeline for graduation, we are planning something that would allow us to have 1 final event for the King IB class of 2020. Once we have more details and feel more confident that we will be able to have the event, we will share more details.  What I will tell you is that the date would be July 14 during the evening.  This is day before graduation.  We are cautiously optimistic about this event and hope to share one more fun experience with you all.

I want to encourage both students and parents to keep working hard. Students you have adapted well to these unforeseen changes.  Please stay diligent from now until the end of the school year.  Parents, kudos to you! You’ve had to step up in a major way to assist your students in their learning. Keep up the great work!

Stay safe and be well.

Mr. Finch
